Vancouver Island has many types of shorebirds.

Killdeer, Photo By Robert LoganWe will post as many as we can here at askbud.

Walking on an Island beach, in the early morning, before daylight at low tide. You will see and hear many of shorebirds of the Island.

The squawk of the Great Blue Heron as it takes to flight or the skee skee skee of the killdeer is just awesome.

Walking along the shore in the afternoon watching the waves roll in and out, or at least you think it is just the waves, then you notice little birds, sandpipers running up and down the beach with each wave.

As you watch you sometimes are amazed at how many sandpipers are there.

So take a winter walk on one of the islands many beaches. I am sure you will enjoy it.
