Help Build The Site
Our goal here at askbud is to provide to both locals and visitors a place where they can learn all about Vancouver Island, including the outer Islands.
We are working to provide information on all its lakes and
rivers, birds and animals, hiking and biking trails, provincial parks and campgrounds, plants and trees, insects and amphibians, whales and wildlife, mountains and forests.
Askbud could be a great tool for us Islanders and all the people who visit, one could look up lakes in a given area and see if there are any campsites or boat launches available or maybe you have seen an insect or bird and want to find out about it.
You might want to find out about a certain plant and wonder if it has ever been used as medicine.
We can be that site, but it is a big job and it could take us quite awhile to make it a site to be proud of.
This is where you could realy be a big help, all that is required is for you to take your camera with you when you go outdoors here on the island and when you see an interesting place, bird, insect, animal, plant or anything else you think others would like to see and learn about, take a pic and then send it to us here at askbud. Please include where it is. Birds, animals or insects and plants do not need to be named as l can do the research on them..
If you go camping, photograph the lake and camping facilities so others can see what facilities are available for them..
We need photos of the lakes and rivers including what, if any, campgrounds and boat launches are there, as well as photos of animals, birds and fish that live or visit our Island.
We would like photos of hiking, biking trails, water falls, mountain climbs you done, Island big trees, insects, birds, lakes, rivers, fish, whales, plants and any other photos that you think we could use here at Askbud.
Send in photos and you will get a byline and if you have a site where they show their photos, like your own website, facebook or any other place online that you use and we will provide a link from the links page on askbud.
The byline will be a hover link to the photo history like the photo here on this page, just hold your mouse on the photo to see how it looks.
We are working very hard at taking these photos ourselves, but its a big Island and there are only two of us here at Askbud.
