Quamichan Lake
Last Next Return To Island Lakes
Quamichan Lake is a very popular lake that is easily accessed from Duncan.
The lake provides excellent fishery for the recently stocked rainbow and cutthroat trout as well as brown bullheads (catfish). Cutthroat are reported to sizes of up to 2.3 kg. March-June and September-October are particularly good months for anglers to try their luck. I have heard that there are Catfish in this lake but have not been able to confirm this. The fishing is usually quite slow but can be good in the early spring or late fall. It is a better fly fishing lake than a trolling lake as it is a shallow lake. You can have good results fishing with a spin cast set up from the shore.
The Art Mann Kinsman Park at the end of Indian road has a picnic area and a good boat launch.
There are plenty of wildlife and birds here so remember to bring your camera.
