Nahwitti Lake is a nice little lake on the road into Holberg on the North Island.
This lake has some excellent fishing for slow growing Cutthroat and Rainbow Trout, plus some Kokanee Trout. There are some Dolly Varden that can reach 1.5 kg. This 262 hectare lake is not fished much and does not receive much fishing pressure. There is a recreation site with cartop boat launch for your use.
This lake is very pretty as is the drive to it and there is an abundance of wild life for your viewing. There is a great showing of wildflowers in the spring and many types of birds here, so dont forget your camera when you visit.
This is an awesome place to go mushroom picking, there are many types of edible shrooms here.
