Last Next Return To Island Lakes
Maple Lake is a pretty lake that has some big fish living in it. The lake is found
north of Cumberland in the Comox valley area of Vancouver Island. The lake is situated next to the Inland Island Highway. You will need to follow the Comox Parkway to Minto Road to reach the parking area.
There is a rustic boat launch for non-motorized boats at the parking area. This lake produces some big Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout up to 1.5 kg. The Rainbow Trout are stocked annually.
The water is quite shallow and warms up in the summer months so the best fishing is from October through the Winter to April.
The Marsh lands and shallow shores are great for observing shore wadding birds and water fowl. The forests surrounding this lake is full of Birds and Animals. There is some great mushrooming in the surrounding areas for those who like to gather them.
