Kyuquot Sound is located just north of Zeballos, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. This area has some of the most beautiful rainforests and ocean vistas in the world, with whales and bears, birds and parks, a place of wonder.
You are right on the west coast and you just have to look out to sea to possible
view grey whales, dolphins, or sea lions basking on the rocky coast. There are so many seals here that you will see many of them and look at the kelp beds, there many sea otters in there. There are eagles, herons, gulls and other more rare ones like Murrelets and Puffins.
The land is covered in a moss filled rainforest of old trees full of wildlife like Roosevelt elk, wolves, cougars and black bears. Kyuquot and Checleseht are absolutely beautiful but you must visit to see this for yourself. you can go sea kayaking, sport fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing from here. There are many beautiful b&bs and lodges here to give the experience you are looking for.
The parks that can be reached by water from here are numerous and well worth the effort to get there. you can get to the Brooks Peninsula Provincial Park, Checleseht Bay Ecological Reserve, Tahsish-Kwois Provincial Park, Tahsish River Ecological Reserve, Dixie Cove Provincial Park and Rugged Point Marine Park.
