There is a variety of trees on Vancouver Island, Hardwood and softwood. We also have some of the biggest trees in the
world growing right here.
Did you know that we have the worlds largest crabapple tree, don't feel bad, not many people do know that.
We do have the biggest Yellow Cedar tree in the world though, in the big tree creek area.
The Carmanah Walbran area on the west coast of the Island has the tallest Sitka Spruce in the world.
In the Cheewhat lake area grows the biggest red cedar in Canada and in the red creek area grows the worlds largest Douglas Fir tree.
I have seen some of these big trees and can tell you, when you stand beside one of them, you know that the world still has giants living on it.
