Gordon Bay Park
Visit the Gordon Bay Park, where great family camping and fishing awaits you on the shores of Lake Cowichan. The park is north of Duncan on south Vancouver Island.
During the summer months, the lake is warm and inviting, full of sandy beaches and great picnic and camping opportunities.
The Lake Cowichan area boasts the highest average annual temperature in Canada.
The lake is known for some awesome fishing where anglers can be challenged by giant Rainbow, Cutthroat and Dolly Varden trout.
You can water-ski and windsurf on the lake or take a quiet canoe journey to explore the bays and estuaries.
This small wilderness area features a number of walking and hiking trails with unparalleled views. Hikers can spot a variety of wildlife and birds, including juncos, Stellar’s jays, chestnut backed chickadees, common mergansers and golden eye ducks.
To view the parks incredible display of wildflowers, you should visit in April and May.
There is a great little museum that will show the history about the area located at Saywell Park.
