Waterfowl are among the most diverse and fascinating creatures their is. They inhabiting every continent except Antarctica. They have such a variety in shape, color and size. They are amazing to watch.Mallard Hen With Chicks By Robert Logan

Ducks, geese, and swans can be found just about everywhere there's water, from the tropics right up to the Artic north, when I worked in the Artic, I was always amazed at Northern Pintailhow many types of birds nested there. The amount of waterfowl was also quite impressive.

 Vancouver Island is right on the Pacific Flyway and the spring and fall migrations are just wonderful to observe.

A pair of field glasses, a camera and a notebook to record your sightings, a good pair of boots and a warm jacket and your on your way to becoming a bird watcher. Be careful though, you might become addicted.

Remember to bring your camera.
