Dickson Lake
Last Next Return To Island Lakes
Dickson lake is a pretty little jewel of a lake set in the Ash river area, not far from Port Alberni. The
lake is assessed via the Ash River Road or by branch 102.
It is a perfect lake to fly-fish. Dickson Lake is quite shallow and has many bays. The lake has a good Cutthroat and Rainbow Trout Fishery and once in awhile, you just may get a big surprise when you are fly-fishing, as summer run Steelhead occasionally make it over Dickson Falls and enter the lake.
Dickson Lake has a maintained campsite and has easy access to offload a car top boat.
Nearby lakes are Ash Lake, Mclaughlin Lake and Lowry Lake. The Ash River flows through Dickson Lake on its way to Elsie Lake.
The scenery here is very beautiful and you will most likely see a variety of wildlife including bears, elk, deer, raccoons, many birds and lots of different wildflowers.
