Ash Lake

Last     Next          Return To Island Lakes

Ash lake is found north of Great Central lake Off a logging road spur that joins Black Tail Deerup to the ash River Road.

This is a very nice lake that is quite deep and stays cold enough all summer to offer some very nice Rainbow Fishing. Ash lake has some very nice Dolly Varden that you can entice to bite occasionally.

They can get upwards of 2 kg. There is no maintained camp grounds or boat launch at Ash Lake, but you can camp at several spots and  it is possible to launch a car top boat.  Ash lake has a 30 meter basin in the Black Bearcenter that is great for fishing and at the south end, just north of a small island, you can hook into some very nice dollies, just to the north west of ash lake is Mclaughlin lake which is biannually stocked, there are rumors of a 7.5 brown trout caught in this lake, that's 17 pounds, this rumor brings many here to try out for them.

There are many spots to fish from shore. Turnbull lake, McLaughlin lake and Dickson lake are close by.

There are lots of wildlife in the area and you have a great chance of seeing black bears, black tailed deer, all kinds of birds and plenty of small lakeside animals.
